Toby's long awaited orchestral
soundtrack to the film APPLE JACK
has just been released by Hit Thing
Records in Hamburg, Germany. The
soundtrack is packaged as a special
edition double disc CD / DVD box with
the movie!

The music was produced by
Toby in New York City and features a
21-piece orchestra. Director Mark
Whiting's short film won BEST PICTURE
at the 7th annual Los Angeles
International Short Film Festival.

Apple Jack features the voice of
Orson Wells, narration by country
music legend Randy Travis,
and twin brother child stars Cole
and Dylan Sprouse starring as Jack.

London & Istanbul with Jessie Evans!

Toby Dammit will be flying into Istabul with Jessie Evans for their premier Turkish concert at URA! Saturday November 8th. Excited is not the word for how they feel about this event. It will actually be Toby's first ever visit to Turkey, so...they are REALLY EXCITED!!!

The duo have recently returned from London where they supplied their legendery mojo at MATTER in the O2 arena on October 25th. They performed as part of the "A Cross The Universe" tour for JUSTICE. This was the 5th London concert for Evans and Dammit this year, so the focus on the U.K. seems obvious now. They REALLY THANK YOU for coming out and dancing... and this is why!

This year has seen the duo hopping all over the globe. Starting with a 5 city tour of México, they trucked it up to California for their only 4 shows in the U.S.A. for 2008. Shifting over to Europe they've racked up 46 concerts in 13 European countries so far this year. Highlights have undoubtedly been the German tour with Iggy & The Stooges!
The double nights at the le Lieu unique in Nantes for the I.D.E.A.L. festival will be hard to forget (being joined onstage by the entire 25-piece Extra Action Marching Band!) As well as the show with Lydia Lunch in Madrid.

France, Switzerland, Belgium , canada & luxembourg with Stephan Eicher!

Toby will continue touring in 2008 with the Swiss artist Stephan Eicher in support of the success of his new album Eldorodo. Eldorado, which features the many talents of Toby, was released in March 2007 in Europe to high critical acclaim. It reached #5 in the French charts, and held the #1 position for 2 weeks in Switzerland.

The 2008 portion of the Eldorado tour will commence in Belgium on February 19th in Comines-Warneton at the Centre Culturel de Comines-Warneton. At current press date 40 concerts are confirmed in 2008 that roll all the way through to OCTOBER 17th - ending at perhaps the finest theatre in Paris, Folies Bergère! NOTE - A very rare North American performance in Montreal, Quebec on July 31st promises to be a wonderful night. Please check back here regualarly for perhaps the most accurate update you'll find on the web!

The Eldorado tour in 2007 racked up 52 dates centered around Switzerland, but also included many shows in France, as well as Belgium. Tour highlights include the 2 sold-out nights at L'OLYMPIA in Paris, a sold-out performance in the Roman amphitheatre at Avenches, Switzerland with Dr. Jimmy Cliff, and the grand finale of the year at Victoria Hall in Genève, Switzerland. We hope to meet you out there somewhere in 2008!

Toby Dammit officially switches to Aquarian Drum Heads

The word around dammitcentrale is that after an 18-year endorsement with Remo Toby has officially become an endorsee for AQUARIAN drumheads. Why the switch? Well, we admit we don't know that much about drumheads here at tobydammit.com, but Toby sure has a BIG grin playing his drums these days, and to us - they just SOUND GREAT! Even SUPERGRASS hired Toby to tune Dany Goffrey's drums for the recording of their new album "Diamond Hoo Ha" in Berlin!

Toby continues to be an active and vocal endorsee of SABIAN Cymbals (now for 20 years!) as well as an exclusive endorsee of VIC FIRTH mallets and drum sticks for the past 18 years. (Be sure to pick up one of his cool signiture sticks at Jessie Evans' merch table for free!) Toby has also held an 18-year endorsement with DW hardware.

Toby and Jessie return to México & California by popular demand

Volver Volver!!! Toby and Jessie Evans returned once again south of the border to México in January 2008. This time the duo performed in FIVE cities. They started the new year on January 17th with a welcome return concert in Monterrey at the Aura Club! This was followed by their premier peformance in Tijuana at the reopening of the legendary lobby of the Antiguo Cine Bujazan on January 18th! A return to México City to the Terraza Centro Cultural de España on January 24th was a warm homecoming, as it is not only the location of their first ever concert in México, but also the city where the two spent most of last summer working on Evans's new album! The pair surprisinly met MANY new fans in the city of Puebla and promise to return as soon as possible. But the biggest surprise of all was in Guadalajara where Evans & Dammit found 1100 eager dancers waiting for them to hit the stage at the Solei Club!

Toby recording from berlin to México with Jessie Evans

Toby has been working this past year on what promises to be one of the best albums of his career; the new solo album by Jessie Evans entitled " IS IT FIRE ". Jessie Evans has mixed up an incredible batch of musical influences for her first solo disc such as Afrobeat, Latino Mambo, Psychedelic Free Jazz, Turkish Electro, and Psycho Norteno, even enlisting not one but TWO different choirs recorded both in Berlin and Tijuana! Evans started the project in Berlin, where she came up with a musical recipe so unusual she just HAD to take it to the top. She enlisted Dammit and engineer / tonmeister Thomas Stern (Crime and the City Solution / Einstürzende Neubauten) and the trio moved into the Saal 4 studio in the old legendary Nalepa Strasse Radio Broadcasting Center of the DDR! Early rumours in Berlin (now confirmed as TRUE) were swirling about several "double-drummer " sessions involving Toby Dammit and Budgie of Siouxsie and the Banshees / Creatures / Slits fame for Evan's album, which no doubt promises to GROOVE! But will they do it one day live onstage?...

Following the basic sessions in Berlin, Dammit and Evans then took off to México City to set up shop for the summer in the beautiful San Raphael district to record Jessie's performances. The trip soon became a massive adventure as concerts were confirmed for them in Monterrey, México City, and Guadalajara. The rambling compadres decided to drive everywhere, recording Evans wherever and whenever they could. The 4000 mile journey extended as far south as Acapulco (at John Wayne's house!) and as far north as the playas of Tijuana, where they joined with the legendary Méxican producer Pepe Mogt (Nortec Collective / Latinsizer / Fussible)! They'll be mixing the album this winter in Tijuana with Pepe and plan to have it completed in 2008. Check with us here regularly for updates on the album or better yet . . .

•°ö°ö°• 2007 year of gold and platinum for toby Dammit! •°ö°ö°•

In a time of record companies falling like flies all over the world, somehow our little Toby managed to make 2007 the most successful year of his recording career. Toby was featured on 6 album releases and 8 singles in 2007. Notably Rufus Wainwright's new album "Release The Stars" for Geffen debuted at the #2 chart position in the U.K and went Gold there by the end of the year. "Release The Stars" (which credits Toby as "Larry Mullins") is now the biggest selling album of Wainwright's career and nearly cracked the top 20 in the U.S.A. ... C'mon America!

Arno, the legendary Belgian singer's new album "Jus De Box" for EMI France went Gold in Belgium, and last but not least, Stephan Eicher's new album "Eldorado" for Universal France went platinum with the #1 album position for 2 weeks in Switzerland, as well as climbing to #5 in the French charts reaching Gold yet again.

"Eldorado" features Toby's production skills considerably, but the new Bee and Flower album "Last Sight Of Land" (produced by Toby) marked the first full band production by the new Berliner producer Herr Dammit. Also a unique performance on the new special.-edition Okkervil River album features Toby performing all the instruments with Will Sheff singing! If that isn't bizarre enough for you, check out the great track "Chunky Monkey" by the 12 year old singing sensation Allegra (produced by Bertrand Burgalat in Paris), which features Toby on the skins. Throw in the newest live compilation from Iggy Pop "Live Supreme" and add in the fact that Toby played 86 concerts in 2007 as well ..., let's just say 2007 was a busy year for the guy. Whether you know it or not, you probably heard him or saw him somewhere out there!

Luther & Toby track "Valhalla" featured on NPR's All Things considered

Luther & Toby's track "Valhalla" from Karny Sutra is being featured regularly on WNPR show favorite All Things Considered. Most recently on New York reporter Robert Smith's story "When the Elephants March in Manhattan."

Also previously on Minnesotan storyteller Kevin Kling's narration of "Curious George's Trip to Hell." And Jack Speer, with an incredibly appropriate sense of humour, connected the royal sounds of Karny Sutra to the sizzling hot PETA VS: Ringling Bros. lawsuit - also known as Elephantgate! A little "behind the scenes" research on this story proves maybe it's not "The Greatest Show on Earth" after all ... at least not for the Elephants!

Toby has two "unusual" duet albums out now.
First with an incredible organist / pianist named Luther Hawkins.
The album is called KARNY SUTRA.

Second with Thomas Wydler - drummer of Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds.
The album is called MORPHOSA HARMONIA.
